What I learned today at the Dan Moody Museum: The Price of a Good Car!

While I was going through stacks of Mary Moody’s music looking for Christmas pieces to display on our piano, I happened upon a very fragile portion of Taylor’s Daily Democrat from December 29, 1921. Mary must have kept the paper because of her own insurance advertisement.

Just under her notice was an ad from Taylor Motor Company listing prices for some beautiful automobiles. The prices seem low, but when you adjust for inflation, they are pretty comparable with today’s prices. For example, the $2000 vehicle would cost about $36,000 today. And the limo would run close to $75,000 today. These prices are spot on with the present day! I think that is amazing!
