Two tickets for ice cream!!!!
While looking though a few old books at the museum, I happened upon what I thought was a book mark, yellowing with age, inside a textbook Dan Moody had in 1906 - he would have been about 12 or 13. The bookmark turned out to be 2 tickets for ice cream from O.A. Schill’s costing a whopping $0.10 and $0.25 respectively.
Thanks to Tim Mikeska and Brad Weber, I learned much more about Schill’s Ice Cream and Soda Water Business that existed in Taylor about 120 years ago. (See attached)
Most importantly, I can picture young Dan and a friend running down the street to get ice cream after school with a couple of quarters in their hands.
Simpler times, indeed!
