Advisory board

Advisory Board members are appointed by the City Council and they have the responsibility of overseeing the day-to-day operation of the museum. They work with a city employee who serves as liaison with the City. The Advisory Board has the power to make recommendations about the needs of the museum but the final decision making power remains with the City government.

Friends of the moody board

The Friends of the Moody Museum, a 501(c)3 non-profit, was established in 1976 with the purpose of providing support for this historic home to ensure that the accomplishments of Taylor’s own Governor Dan Moody would be remembered.

The Friends of the Moody have undertaken a major fund drive to erect a life-size bronze statue of Gov. Moody in the front yard of the museum. They are currently selling Recognition Bricks with personalized inscriptions and collecting donations. Bricks may be purchased and donations may also be made through the Shop page on this website.
