Mary Moody, Dan’s older sister, is indeed an unsung hero serving the Taylor community and local area quietly for so many years.

Not only did she play the piano for a local church, but she worked for the Red Cross, and helped start a music club that gave scholarships to students. She was multi-faceted: working as an insurance agent in a time when many women didn’t work, was a Daughter of the American Revolution, and an all-around talented musician and volunteer. Most importantly, she lived in the Moody home her entire life and helped to preserve the rich history that is evident in the house. Even though she was born over 130 years ago, her contributions are still making a difference today!

Her well-loved piano is located at the Dan Moody Museum and is still played from time to time.

Notice she is reading a Dr. Seuss book!
